If you want to put an account password in Windows Vista, then try these steps:

a) Open Control Panel
b) Click on “User Account and family Safety” or “User Account” to open the User Account page
c) Select the User Account for which you want the password.
d) On the Left menu, click on create a password
e) Type the password of your choice.
f) Re-type the password to confirm.
g) Save changes
h) On the next login, you will be prompted to enter the password
