I have windows 7 64 bit on my computer. I inadvertently made a non-system drive the active partition. Now, I’m not able to start my computer. I just get a ‘BOOTMGR is missing’ error. I’ve tried startup repair and system restore but it does not start. Please help me with it. I am ready to reinstall windows 7 as long as I don’t lose my documents.

Since you have already tried startup repair which should fix this issue, I will ask you to try the other way. You have to choose the Command Prompt option instead in the advance boot menu, and use the following command to fix the boot options only: bootrec /fixboot. You should get the message operation completed successfully.
