19. I can’t shutdown my computer, it’s windows 7, when I click on shutdown it doesn’t do anything and I have to turn it off from power button. How can I resolve it?

If it’s not shutting down, try the following steps:

(a) Make sure all programs are closed as these may interfere with shutdown process.
(b) Check if any updates are going on.
(c) Run an updated scan of antivirus and anti spyware.
(d) Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow. Type the following command, and then press ENTER: sfc /scannow

When I use Explorer to delete files from a folder (on my external drive) they don't disappear from the screen. They apparantly stay in the folder. So I think I did something wrong and try to delete them again, but nothing happens. Meanwhile, I've learned they were deleted but they only disappear from the onscreen folder after 'refresh'.

My screen goes blank between windows xp loading screen and my desktop. My desktop doesn’t load or come on at all. Every time I turn on my computer before loading windows goes directly to Black screen with OS choices.
