You are encountering 0x7b error in your XP based system. This may be due to a hardware issue or a driver issue mainly. You can perform the following steps:
Update the computer BIOS or obtain Windows XP drivers for your hard disk controller (from the manufacturer of your computer, system board, or hard disk controller), or do both.
If the boot volume is corrupted the it cannot be initiated by Windows XP and you get an error. In this case you can try the first repair option by Pressing R and then starting the recovery console. Select the windows installation if prompted to do so, enter your Administrator password. If you don't have one, leave it blank and press enter. From the command prompt, enter: chkdsk /r (note the space between chkdsk and /r)
Allow it to complete undisturbed.
