Good Evening, this morning i went to check if i had some windows updates to be installed and too my surprise, it had never installed the service pack 1. i tried to install it but it gets stuck at 0% and after sometime give the following error 800F081F

It’s really good that you have mentioned the error code in your question but we need to know the Operating system as well to give you a proper solution.
However we can try couple of steps and you can always get back to us with computer details.

Download the Service Pack 1 from the Microsoft Website
For Windows 7

For Windows Vista
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=b0c7136d-5ebb-413b-89c9-cb3d06d12674&displaylang=en

Save it on the hard drive.
Boot the computer in Safe Mode and do the installation from there.
