This issue may be due to poor resource allocation, please try the following steps:

(a) Make sure your system is having good physical memory and CPU specifications.
(b) Use the msconfig utility to reduce the number of startup programs.
(c) Update the Operating system.
(d) Download and install the latest media player and codecs.
(e) Scan your system with the latest antivirus software.
(f) Update the video and the audio drivers from the system manufacturer website.
(g) Enable disable hardware acceleration and see if it makes any difference.

A week ago I purchased a Windows 7-based laptop. Before this I had a desktop with Windows XP. To access my old mails, I copied the Microsoft Outlook .pst file from my old computer to a CD and tried to transfer it to the new laptop. The error "Invalid MS-DOS Function" keeps popping up. every time i click on an application it comes up with "open with" and it doesn’t always open the apps as administrator as it should be, a warning message pops up instead of any program, really all i need to know is what to do, either re-boot the system or system restore as it is not really good for me as i am not familiar with the system, any answers appreciated, thanks
