Windows 7 includes a new option under Display Settings that can help you flip the screen from portrait to landscape mode (and vice-versa) without requiring additional software. Under the Appearance and personalization>Display>screen resolution, under orientation drop down, you can select the option accordingly.

WHen I do an alt-tab in Windows 7, if I don't constantly switch window (holding down alt and quickly clicking tab) it will go into Peek mode. Normally, I would expect the alt-tab window to stay on top when the Peek happens, but, instead my little alt-tab window disappears behind the windows being brought forward by the Peek. I can still cycle through the windows by pushing alt-tab, but my window has disappeared.

I was trying to reset some permissions and now my system is all messed up. Some programs would not work anymore. When I try to change it back, I get a message that I do not have access to some folders. Is there a way to change all of windows permissions to default. I have windows xp.

I'm trying to watch a movie, but all that happens when I click play is the audio starts playing. It worked on my friend’s computer, but when I play it on my laptop it won’t play, none of the programs I have will work. It clearly says the file is a 'Windows Movie' file. Thanks in advance.

I got an HP G60-530US laptop that completely crashed because of viruses. I decided to reinstall windows 7 as I had a disk and a family pack product key. So, I formatted the HD, and started the process. When it got to the ‘windows is starting up’ screen, it crashed to a blue screen with the following info "A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.WimFsf.sys PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA Technical Information: STOP: 0x00000050 (0xFFFFF8A07E7BEEE0, 0X0000000000000001, 0XFFFFF88001BDCE39, 0X0000000000000005) WimFsf.sys - Address FFFFF88001BDCE39 base at FFFFF88001BD8000, DateStamp 4a5bc362 The hard drive is blank and there’s no way I can access the GUI to run windows tools. I ran the various HP diagnostic tests (HDD and RAM checked fine) and I tried to install Windows once again. This time, during the "Windows loading files" screen, a new window came up. Windows Boot ManagerWindows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer.Any help would be greatly appreciated

I upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 about a month ago. It worked fine for a week and then it slowed down immensely. I checked the CPU activity in the task manager and it is constantly running between 70% and 90%. I’m starting to think my computer is not built for windows 7. Please help.
