Please perform the following steps:

Update the antivirus software in your system and run a full scan of the system. Use the msconfig utility and minimize the startup programs. To perform a diagnostic startup, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, click Run, type msconfig, and then click OK.
2. On the General tab, click Diagnostic Startup, and then click OK.
3. Restart your computer.
If the error does not coma again, there is some startup program thatis using this file, so reinstall this program if required.

I tried to uninstall a program the other day and as far as my recollection goes, I succeeded. But for some reason, I still see it in add or remove programs (I have xp) and it refuses to go away now. Why would that happen? Is there a way to get rid of it?
