I would advise you to do a backup of your system data, steps are outlined in http://www.askiyogi.com/windows/18720.html The programs that are already installed will not be backed up and you will have to reinstall them. You can restore from the backup most of your files.

• Open Backup and Restore by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Backup and Restore.
• If you've never used Windows Backup before, click Set up backup, and then follow the steps in the wizard. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Give the drive as the backup destination.
