I have seen this before in my system as well. Just hard shut-off the computer. Press and hold the power button. Then when you restart it, select Start Windows normally. After it boots and finishes the updates, click start, shutdown arrow for option, select restart and all should be ok. See if this helps. See if this helps. I installed Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor on my Windows Vista laptop recently (about a week ago). It checked my PC if it able to run Windows 7. Anyway I got an answer and now I DO NEED to remove upgrade advisor. I looked for a folder in Start menu where there could have been an option to remove the software (but there was no such folder). I also checked Add or Remove Programs. There was no entry for Upgrade Advisor in Programs or Updates as well. How can I remove it?
