There may be multiple issues with your system and needs to be investigated. I will guide you through some steps and this will either solve it or give a clue what may be the issue.
(a) Run an updated full scan of you system antivirus software and delete any infections found.
(b) Use the msconfig utility to minimize the startup programs, this will freeup memory.
(c) Uninstall any programs that you don’t use any more.
(d) Check device manager for any conflicts, update or delete the conflicting device.
(e) If you had made any changes recently, you can try a system restore.
(f) Any softwares that you install, make sure they are compatible and are updated.
(g) Check event manager in control panel to see any major error.
