Please check if the following services are running: Volume Shadow Copy and Windows Backup under the services options. Check the system restore settings for the drives. Use the disk cleanup wizard to delete temp files.

i can access my desktop icons from the files that way but my screen where my icons should be is completely blank. it doesn't show the start button or any of the other things that should show at the bottom like the time clock, programs running, etc. All it shows is the wallpaper that i choose to use on my desktop. I also cant do a disc cleanup.
