There may be settings that are not enabled. Please follow these steps:

1.Open User Accounts in Control Panel.
2.Click Change the way users log on or off.
3.To specify that users log on to the computer using the Welcome screen, select the Use the Welcome screen check box. A user logs on to the computer by clicking his or her user account name on the Welcome screen. If a password is assigned to the account, the user is prompted to type it.

I was trying to restore my computer then I figured out my system protection is off and no restore point is being created. I tried to turn on system protection and got error “The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect. (0x8007007B)” I have windows 7.

Ive got a big problem with my laptop, it had a virus a month or so ago and I think I managed to get ride of it with antivirus software. Hoever about a week ago it started doing this, each time I turn a screen comes up saying windows was not shut down succesfully and 4 options appear, normal mode, safe mode and a couple of other. Whichever one I choose the blue screen flashes up for about 1/2 a second and it restarts itself. It just does the exact same thing over and over again and I dont know why??????????

I downloaded AVG on a USB and tried installing it on my vista computer with no success. Now, when I try to start it, it just freezes with the windows logo showing on a black screen. I tried safe mode but it freezes on "avgrkx86.sys and AVGIDSEH.sys"
