If you are not able to do windows updates on the computer with the error code 8024402f. we need to follow these steps.
• Check the BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service), Cryptographic Services and Windows Update services are running or not .
• If not then disable the firewall on the computer and try to start them manually.
• Set them for Automatic and started.
• Also in windows 7 you can use the Windows troubleshooter.
o Open the Windows Update troubleshooter by clicking the Start button.
o Click Control Panel.
o In the search box, type troubleshooter, and then click Troubleshooting.
o Under System and Security, click Fix problems with Windows Update.
