When I try to delete a folder on my Windows Vista-based computer, the error "You need permission to perform this action" pops up. This happens even when I log in as an administrator. Please help.

This message generally comes due to security issues. I will confirm with you the take ownership steps to make sure that it is in fact the proper steps you have done to assign your user profile permissions for this task. To Take Ownership of a file or folder:
1. Right-click the file or folder for which you want to set permissions, click Properties , and then click the Security tab.
