Today when I tried to install software for a webcam on my Windows XP-based computer, the error "The software you are installing has not passed Windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP" was displayed. Can you tell why this error message is coming up?

This message is displayed to prevent the anyone from installing potentially dangerous drivers. But sometimes it appears even when you install drivers from the hardware manufacturer. If you’re tech-savvy and regularly like to install drivers that are not supported by Microsoft in Windows, this message may start to annoy you after a while. Fortunately, you can disable the message with the following steps:

1. Right-click My Computer.
2. Click Properties.
3. Click the Hardware tab, then click Driver Signing under Drivers
4. Click Ignore – Install the software anyway and don’t ask for my approval
