In Windows XP, the automatic updates icon is missing from system tray. I have configured the updates to be downloaded automatically, but should be installed when I want to.

The update icon may be hidden, to see all icons:
• Right-click the Notification Area and select "Properties".
• With the Taskbar Tab open, untick the checkbox labelled "Hide Inactive Icons".
• Click "OK" to save the change and exit the properties window. Now you will be able to see all icons.
Regards updates, you can check the current settings from the Control Panel.
