If you are getting a black screen with a beep everytime you are trying to start the computer, then it could be a memory failure issue. Please follow these steps:
a) Try to do a power flea. To do so:
• Shut down the computer
• Disconnect all the cables and devices connected to the computer including the power cable.
• Now keep the power button pushed in for about 30 seconds so that all the residual power on the motherboard is drained out.
• Connect the power cable, the keyboard, mouse and the monitor and try to power on the system again
b) If this does not help, try to boot to the Windows Advanced Options Menu. To do so, keep tapping the F8 key on the OEM Logo, if it appears on the screen
c) If you are able to get to the Windows Advanced Options Menu, then try the option Last Known Good Configuration, Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Command Prompt and check if you are able to boot using any of these modes
d) If not, use the Windows Disk to boot to the Recovery console. Run a chkdsk /r from there
Please re-post with more information including the make and model of the computer and the operating system in question
