If your computer is freezing when you open the My Computer, there may be issues with shell, please try the following:

(A) Mapped drive or DVDROM may cause this kind of issue so try to make the drives available and also remove any media from DVDROM.
(B) Run a fully updated scan of your system with security software.
(C) Run a Windows Update.
(D) Defragment your hard drive from the tool menu of the drive.
(E) Check for any error on the hard drive with the same tools menu s above.

My computer uses Vista and has a 9800 GTX+ graphics card, which is only compatible with DirectX 10. Somehow, I managed to install DirectX 11. This has caused me to have trouble playing certain games. I was wondering if there is someway for me to downgrade from DirectX11 to DirectX10, or another way to solve this problem. I have an old Windows XP computer.
