    I have a desktop with the Windows XP operating system. Please help me to fix the error "D3D9Window is not responding", which I am getting on shutting off or restarting the computer.

This file is associated with Direct X. I would suggest you to uninstall the currently installed direct X and then re-install the latest version and check. Please follow these steps:

Step 1.
a. To do this click start and type regedit in the run and press enter.
Next, navigate to the following registry key.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DirectX
b. Here, delete the DirectX folder, exit the Registry Editor, and restart your XP computer.
Step 2.
Go to the link below and run the installer and follow the instructions on screen to install the latest direct X http://support.microsoft.com/kb/179113
