By default, Trend Micro Internet Security and Trend Micro AntiVirus products are set to automatically get updates from the Internet.
If you prefer to update it manually, please follow the steps below:

1.Open the Trend Micro main console by double-click on the Trend Micro icon shortcut on your desktop or the icon in your system tray (beside the computer clock),
2.In the Overview tab section, click Update Now.An update progress window will appear.
3.When the update process is complete, check the date the update was performed in the Last update section of the main console. It should show "Defenses up to date".
