You have not given any details of error or the symptoms of this issue. What happens when you click on the Word file? Try these steps:

(a) If the file association has broken, please go to Control Panel>default programs and here define the programs to be used by file types.
(b) If the word tries to open but gets stuck, search for normal.dotm and delete it.
(c) If nothing works, run the installer again.
