Please try the following steps:
(a) Make sure all the relevant support software is installed like Java, .NET etc.
(b) Run a full scan of the system with updated antivirus software.
(c) Boot to safe mode and check if the error still comes, if no then there is some program running in the background that’s causing the issue, identify it and disable it. You can use the MSCONFIG utility for the same.
(d) Check the compatibility of the program with the current OS. You can uninstall and then reinstall the latest copy with all updates again.
