My powerpoint crashes when I exit the application, I tried flie/exit, RedX, Alt- F4. All of these are causing it to crash. I got this message “Microsoft powerpoint has stopped working”. I have windows 7 64bit/office 2010 small business.

If your PowerPoint application is crashing all the time, please try the following steps:

1. Disable/uninstall any addins installed with office application.
• Open PowerPoint
• Click on File ->Options ->Add-ins
• Click on Go besides COM-Add-ins
• Clear all Check boxes
• Click OK, and restart PowerPoint

2. See if you can change the default printer to Microsoft XPS.
3. Update Windows.
4. If it does not start hold the ctrl key and then start Power point.

It must be .ppt or .pptx file corruption which may cause such trouble.

I should advise following tool for opening, reading, scanning and if it's necessary recovering powerpoint files http://www.powerpoint.fixtoolbox.com
