The issue of unknown error occurred (-50) that you are facing while opening the iTunes software may be due to conflict. I would advise you to uninstall all the older iTunes program. The complete steps to remove all iTunes program are given in the link http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923. Please follow the procedure step by step and do not skip any stage. Once this is done, please reinstall the latest iTunes software.
