After updating the BIOS of my Windows 7-based HP computer, the system is not shutting down. I have to shut it down by pressing the power button. Please suggest a remedy for this problem.

Please try the following steps:
(a) Use the power button to shut down the system forcibly.
(b) Disconnect all external peripherals.
(c) Start the computer and go to BIOS.
(d) Reset the BIOS settings to defaults and check boot order.
(e) Save and exit and let the system boot back to normal state.
