If it keeps crashing, there may be some issues with the program. First scan your system with antispyware software after updating it. If this does not take care of the issue, try uninstalling and then reinstalling it. You can download the latest version from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?platform=windows&product=10

The cause of non-opening might be file corruption. If it's right you would advise next application http://www.pdf.fixtoolbox.com

It can help you to open .pdf documents of any version Adobe Acrobat
