What do you exactly mean by not successful? Are you getting any error message or just nothing happens. Normally From the File menu, select Include a Folder in the Gallery. Browse to the location of the folder you'd like to add and click ok. Windows Live Photo Gallery will now include that folder. It will appear in the Navigation Pane under the All Photos and Video node. Please try these:

(a) Make sure what ever you are trying to include is indexed.
(b) Check for any permission related issues with the folder.
(c) Disable antivirus for some time and then try.
(d) Login with a different profile and then try to add.
