Click Start, then right click any blank space on the start menu and left click Properties. Select the Start Menu tab at the top, click Customize midway down on the right and then click the Advanced tab at the top and see if the Control Panel is selected for Don't Disply This Item, if yes, select it to display.

I'm going crazy trying to find a simple system for a friend, what with the proliferation of 'categories'(notebook, netbook, tablet, iPad, iPod) these days. What I'm looking for is very straightforward: 1) High speed, consistent wireless (N) streaming given a pre-existing fiber-to-wireless-router connection and high-speed cable modem. 2) A machine I can set up for him so when he turns it on it will go directly to the web. 3) Quality sound and graphics (web) with a display between 10" and 13" (for portability and price); not concerned about battery life. 4) Fast machine 5) Reasonable price <= $650. 6) 3G/4G ... not sure. He doesn't have a cell phone and I'm not sure if this is a feature that would be used/necessary when visiting family. I've looked at netbooks, tablets, small laptops and my head is spinning. I used to be a pro but got CNS Lyme disease in 2007 and now my head just can't handle more than 15 minutes of concentration, not to mention that I completely forget everything I've come across 15 minutes after leaving. I cannot react fast enough to hit the \"Restore\" button on Chrome. It lasts about 1.5 seconds and then disappears leaving me to have a screaming fit of rage. All I have is a cheap trackpad ... Windows 7 Home Premium on Asus K52 laptop. I have tried to restore factory default on battery mgmt to make it stop cutting off the power cold and crashing EVERYTHING!
