Open the IE( browser. Click on the "gear" icon, located in the upper right hand corner of your IE9 window. When the drop-down menu appears, click on Internet Options. The IE9 Internet Options should now be visible, overlaying your browser window. Click on the Programs tab. Towards the top of the Programs window is a section labeled Default web browser. To make IE9 your default browser, click on the button within this section labeled Make default.

I'm going crazy trying to find a simple system for a friend, what with the proliferation of 'categories'(notebook, netbook, tablet, iPad, iPod) these days. What I'm looking for is very straightforward: 1) High speed, consistent wireless (N) streaming given a pre-existing fiber-to-wireless-router connection and high-speed cable modem. 2) A machine I can set up for him so when he turns it on it will go directly to the web. 3) Quality sound and graphics (web) with a display between 10" and 13" (for portability and price); not concerned about battery life. 4) Fast machine 5) Reasonable price <= $650. 6) 3G/4G ... not sure. He doesn't have a cell phone and I'm not sure if this is a feature that would be used/necessary when visiting family. I've looked at netbooks, tablets, small laptops and my head is spinning. I used to be a pro but got CNS Lyme disease in 2007 and now my head just can't handle more than 15 minutes of concentration, not to mention that I completely forget everything I've come across 15 minutes after leaving.
