This may happen due to corrupt program association or registry issue. I will suggest you some steps here:
(a) First run a complete anti spyware and antivirus scan on your system.
(b) Uninstall Firefox
(c) Click Start>regedit>click edit>Find…type Firefox and search, delete any entries found
(d) Reinstall the latest version of the Firefox.
