Yes you are absolutely right, this might be happening due to missing flash player or flash add in on internet explorer.

I am unable to install IE9 ,at point of installation it says installing necessary updates and proceeds to do so. Then it reports failed to install .... (too fast for me to read screen) When I restart I still have IE8. I checked my Windows Updates and found that multiple records of KB971029 failing to install. There is an error 80070643. My internet explorer takes me to another tab all that happens is a new tab opens with nothing in it. If I want to get to that link I have to right click the link, copy the shortcut, open a new tab, paste the URL into the address bar and press enter. This behaviour started only recently and I have no idea why. Please help.
