The message "A program is trying to access the web" is displayed when I open Internet Explorer 8. Two options are given: Allow or Disallow. The browser hangs and the program that was trying to access the web is shown as Silverlight.configuration.exe. Can anyone give suggestions for resolving this?

It seems to be that Silverlight is causing the problem. First we have to uninstall the Silverlight. Below are the steps to follow to uninstall the silverlight:
1. Go to Start menu.
2. Go to Control Panel
3. Open Add or Remove Program & Feature.
4. Choose Microsoft Silverlight in Add Remove Programs Dialog box.
5. Click on Remove
6. It asks you for the confirmation.
7. Click YES to Uninstall the Silverlight
After uninstalling the Silverlight check the internet explorer. If required, reset the IE to defaults.
