The search history should be deleted normally by the regular process that you may be following. Try this for IE:

1)Go to Control Panel\System and Maintenance
2)Open Modify Index Locations
3)Select Internet Explorer History
4)Click Advanced button
5)Click Restore To Default
6)Restart your computer.
Also make sure you have done a recent scan of your system with security software. Keep updating the browser, OS and the security software.

The message "A program is trying to access the web" is displayed when I open Internet Explorer 8. Two options are given: Allow or Disallow. The browser hangs and the program that was trying to access the web is shown as Silverlight.configuration.exe. Can anyone give suggestions for resolving this?
