This error message is displayed if the Database Interface Wizard in Microsoft FrontPage 2003 is used to create the database interface webpage.

The solution to the problem

Follow the instructions to correct the problem when database webpage returns error message while submitting a new record in Microsoft FrontPage 2003:

Step 1-On the Windows Server 2003 machine, sign-in as an administrator and open Windows Explorer.

Step 2-Navigate to the directory where the website database file is located.

Step 3-Now right-click on ‘Your_Web_Site_Database_Name.mdb’ and then click on ‘Properties’.

Step 4-On the ‘Security’ tab, click on ‘Add’ and then enter the object names to select box, type IIS_WPG, and then click on ‘Ok’.

Step 5-In the ‘Group or user names’ list, click on ‘IIS_WPG’.

Step 6-From the ‘Permissions for IIS_WPG list’, choose the ‘Allow’ check box that is next to ‘Write’.

Step 7-Click on ‘Add’.

Step 8-From the ‘Enter the object names to select’ box, type ‘Network Service’, and then click on ‘Ok’.

Step 9- Click on ‘Network Service’ in the ‘Group or user names’ list.

Step 10-From the ‘Permissions for Network Service’ list, select the ‘Allow’ check box that is next to ‘Write’.

Step 11-Click on ‘Apply’, and then click on ‘Ok’.

Simply grant write access permission for the MDB file to both the IIS_WPG group and the Network Service so as to rectify the error message.
