You can connect the memory stick in any one of the free USB port of the Laptop. Normally you will get a auto popup in your screen to perform an action regards the memory stick. If not, once the installation wizard is successful, you can open My computer and there you will find a drive letter allocated to the memory stick. Just double click on it and the contents of the drive will be in front of you. Now you can backup and restore files.

I have had a 1TB WD external hard-drive for a year and a half now. It's been perfectly fine, until now. Everytime I finish using it, I safely remove it. But now, when I plug it in, my computer won't recognise it. The laptop is a brand new Dell inspiron. When the power supply is turned on, the hard-drive light goes on, and I can hear it spin and make a beep noise for 4 times, then it stops. Any ideas on the problem?
