I will surely guide you through the steps but you have not mentioned the router model and the printer model. Anyways, I will provide you with the generic steps assuming that you printer has a network port.

(a) Connect the printer to the router through the network cable.
(b) In the printer console, see if the printer gets an IP address.
(c) Use the same IP address to install the printer in your wife’s computer.
(d) If your wife’s computer has Windows, go to add printer wizard and try to search for a network printer, you should probably find this printer, then install it.
