I can’t hear any sound on my vista computer. It said ‘no audio output device installed’ on the system tray and when I opened the device manager, I noticed that the ‘sound, video and game controller’ section was missing too. What’s with that? Any way I can fix it?

If the sound controller option is missing from the device manager, its quite possible that the software is not installed, if the sound card is present, you will see unknown device under device manager, if not, go to the BIOS screen and reset it to default or enable on-board sound. Now use the software CD that came with your system to install the Sound card drivers. Alternatively you can go to the manufacturer’s website and download the latest compatible drivers and install it.
