I want to put a password on my 1tb external hard drive so that my son does not tamper any of my official files while I am away. Does Windows 7 allow you to do that? Is it safe? (The data I’m referring to is of great importance. I just cannot lose it.) Thanks -Kevin

If you have Windows 7 Ultimate and Enterprise edition, you can use the Windows inbuilt Bitlocker to protect data on external drive. Try this:

1. Open Bitlocker Drive Encryption by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Security, and then clicking Bitlocker Drive Encryption.
2. Click Turn On BitLocker. This opens the BitLocker setup wizard. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3. Follow the instructions in the wizard.
Alternatively, you can use third party software’s available online to put a password on the external disk as per your requirements.

Audio driver from manufacturer website won't install on Benq Joybook Lite U102I got this joybook as second-hand. It did have Win XP and all the drivers installed, when I got it (though no restore partition). But, it had viruses, so I reinstalled by copying my XP CD to a USB pen drive.I also downloaded all the drivers from the Benq website here:http://www.benq.co.in/page/?pageid=4&plid=18&pid=1511&s=1You can see that the page says \"audio driver for windows xp\", but after downloading the big 57 MB file, I saw that it didn't have any WinXP folder, though it does have Vista folder. The setup fails when run on this XP netbook. I've also tried downloading from another of Benq's websites but the same thing happens and the XP folder or drivers are missing. I wonder how the previous user installed the drivers, but he's unaware of it. Can someone please help me get sound on this netbook up and running?The UAA driver is already installed but still the setup fails. I even tried downloading and installing the driver directly from realtek. Same error message.
