You have not stated which Operating system you are using and the printer model. I believe the error that you are encountering is due to communication error. Please try the following steps:
(a) Check for any error state of the printer.
(b) Check for network access rights and credentials.
(c) Update the driver as per compatibility of the OS.
(d) Check the spooler services and their dependencies.
(e) Under network resources, see if you can find this printer as shared.

uttam ,
Thanx for quick response , I am working on windows XP client machine controlled by windows server 2010. All nodes are working fine with this printer. The printer is HP M1536.
Thanks Ran
Thanks for the additional information. Please Go to start / run and type services.msc, Locate print spooler service, Double click to open and click stop service
Locate your spool folder for the printer
C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS
See if there are any files there, specifically we are trying to find two files one with .spl (the print spool file) and .shd (its shadow file), If you find them, delete them (these two files) they are jammed print jobs which prevent your printer from functioning. Go back and restart print spooler service, ensure its startup behavior is set to automatic. Restart computer and see if printer works.
