It depends which printer model you have. Some models do not let you print if you do not have the color cartridge. Anyways, when you go to the printer properties page through File >Print, go to advance and then change the option under Print in Grayscale to ON instead of OFF.

I've been using a USB hub recently. I have only one dependable USB port (apart from where my DSL router plugs in), so I plug into that, and into a less dependable port for additional power. Sometimes it works fine. Sometimes the computer can't detect it, and sometimes the computer makes a high-pitched hum when I plug in the hub's power cable to the second USB port.

i have a HP photosmart C4480 printer and my disk wont install so i downloaded the drivers & software for the printer from the HP website which i have done before, this time for some reason the printer will not stay connected to the laptop and it just will not print. i reset my laptop about 2 wks ago & now im having the issues, prior to the reset i did the same thing and it worked fine.

My computer is getting a bit old and I want to upgrade it. Everything seems to be running well except for my graphics and 3d graphics.
