Ofcourse yes , You an burn CDs with Sony DVD ROMW+ drive. If you are windows XP and above user then you don't need any extra software to burn CDs . * Put blank CD in the DVD Rom * Right click on the folder or file you want to burn * Click on Send to option and click on DVD ROM. * Now open My computer and open DVD Rom. * On the right side click on "write these files to CD" and follow the on screen instructions. These steps applies to windows XP , Vista and windows 7.

You can not burn DVD with your DVD ROM. If you have a DVD writer then it is possible. Your unit will read DVD only.

I an trying to install an Asus Dvdbuner in a Hp Pavillion 7935 Desk top PC. The burner is Sata and the PC is IDE. I have installd a IDE to SATA conerter in IDE port 1 and wired the DVD.The DVD is getting power but thats iit. What am I doing wrong?PS the motherboard is an ASUS A7V-AM I an using windows XP

On loading a DVD, the disc is shown as empty with 0 bytes. But the same disc works perfectly fine on my colleague's laptop. Why is this problem occuring on my computer? Can someone help.
