I formatted the hard disk and reinstalled Windows XP on my computer. Earlier I was using a webcam with my PC, but now its driver CD is not working and due to formatting, the webcam software is no longer there. Now the problem is that the webcam is not detected by the system. From where can I install the software for the webcam?

You have not mentioned the model of the webcam else I would have given the location of download. Anyways, visit the webcam manufacturers website and go to the support/download section and search for your model number. Then select the download file compatible with Windows version you have and the download it. There may be two files, one driver and the other the webcam utility software so download both of them. Now install it as an administrator and then launch the application.

On trying to connect a printer to a network, error "Windows can't open Add Printer. Access is denied" is shown. The printer was working fine with my Windows 7-based computer. Does anyone have any idea why this error is occurring?

I recently got a laptop with windows 7. I bought a Microsoft web-cam. I realized that the mic in the web-cam was better than the built-in mic my laptop had. So I went to control panel/sound and I disabled the built-in microphone and left only the web-cam microphone enabled. When I went back to Audacity it showed a message that said "Error while opening sound device. Please check the input device settings and the project sample rate". Did i do something wrong? How do I make my built-in mic go back to normal?

My CD/DVD drive can’t read or write any disks, I have tried several disk but it can’t read them. This is brand new drive so I don’t think it’s corrupted.

Audio driver from manufacturer website won't install on Benq Joybook Lite U102I got this joybook as second-hand. It did have Win XP and all the drivers installed, when I got it (though no restore partition). But, it had viruses, so I reinstalled by copying my XP CD to a USB pen drive. I also downloaded all the drivers from the Benq website here. You can see that the page says "audio driver for windows xp", but after downloading the big 57 MB file, I saw that it didn't have any WinXP folder, though it does have Vista folder. The setup fails when run on this XP netbook. I've also tried downloading from another of Benq's websites but the same thing happens and the XP folder or drivers are missing. I wonder how the previous user installed the drivers, but he's unaware of it. Can someone please help me get sound on this netbook up and running? Regards, Deboo
