The webcam has its own utility software and it can be used from launching the software. It is important that the correct driver and the software is installed properly. You have not mentioned the model number etc. Make sure you use the manufacturer provided disc to do a proper installation. In case you don’t have the disc, please visit the manufacturer website and download the compatible software and install it. In the view option of the My Computer make sure there is no settings enabled to hide certain items.

I’m facing problems with the mouse but I have tried changing it and its drivers without much help. The problem is intermittent. Sometimes when I click a word, it highlights it rather than placing the cursor within it. When I try to access a drop-down menu, the menu pops in and pops out quickly. At times, I click on a button and it just gets highlighted and I need to press enter. Any ideas?
