When I start my computer, sometimes the keyboard does not function. After I restart the system, the keyboard starts functioning. I can’t understand why this is happening. Please help.

Are you using normal wired keyboard or a wireless keyboard? When you say that the keyboard is not working, do you see any lights on the keyboard like numlock, capslock etc? Try these:

(a) Look for the keyboard connector and try to reseat it.
(b) If it a wireless keyboard, delete any keyboard software, reinstall the software and resync.
(c) Delete the default keyboard drivers from the device manager and let windows install it again.
(d) Reset the BIOS to defaults.

I have a geography essay which has to be in on Wednesday and whilst I was in school today, I finished my essay in my spare time where I stuck my USB pen drive into the schools hard drive and it worked absolutely fine. I come home, I stick the pen into my own laptop and my laptop just doesn't recognise it at all. I have also tried it on my sister's apple mac and my dad's computer downstairs. Can anyone help?

My computer was dead slow and crashing so my friend suggested me to run “error checking”. I initiated error checking in my computer local disk c and d both. Error checking gave me repot in local disk D that I have 25 kb bad sector but didn’t gave me any option to repair it. Please tell me how can I fix this bad sector issue in local disk d.

I took backup of my files and folder in segate external hard drive. I reformatted my hard drive and installed same windows again.
