Please try the following steps:
(a) When the VGA is connected, go to the device manager and look for any conflicts, if there is any yellow mark, resolve the conflict.
(b) Visit the manufacturer website and download the latest NIC drivers.
(c) Uninstall the NIC card and then install the latest driver that you downloaded.
(d) Reset the BIOS and if there is an update then perform it.
(e) It can be a hardware issue as well so manually check the ports for any damage.
(f) You can try to use another VGA cable as well.
(g) If you are using any external hardware like KVM switch or any thing, remove it and try a direct connection.
