I want to install my old printer on my new HP laptop. On installing printer software, error message comes up stating that admin rights are required. I even tried logging in as an administrator, but didn’t work. How to go about it.

You have not provided and details of your system and printer model and the OS you are using. Please go to the control panel, user accounts and make sure you have the administrator rights. Is your system in a networked environment and you login to a domain? If there is any restriction applied, you can get this type of message. Try to put the installation files in the computer from the external media and then try to install. Also scan your system for any malware infection. You can also try to install the software in safe mode.

I have an Epson cx7450. While initializing, the scanner jams, causing the gears and belt to grind while repeatedly attempting to move. This happens when I am sending a print job to the printer, so I believe this all-in-one initializes both printing and scanning each time, even if only a print job is sent from the computer. How can I clear the jammed scanner?

I did a clean install on winxp pro, it ended with an "unexpected error", it won't install, shows me the error message and reboot tries to reinstall, and same error. I checked around and it could be due to the intallation disk that was scratched and unable to read files (i tried to image the disk and failed). i did make a copy of the disk earlier, but it was bootable. i tried to put in the copied cd, tried to browse for the file but couldn't (don't kn ow the drive and file).
