Have you made and recent changes to your system like an update etc? Please try the following steps:
(a) Disable any antivirus software email monitoring.
(b) Check the location of the store folder and see if it has changed in Outlook Express.
(c) Create another profile and try to login with it.
(d) Run an antivirus scan in your system.
