Outlook Express isn’t available in Windows 7—you can’t download it or run it. However, you can install an e mail program from another company or use Windows Live Mail—a free program that is part of Windows Live Essentials. If you had mails in the Windows mail, did you take a backup of it? Yur old files should be there in C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail. You will need to import your Windows Mail data into Windows Live Mail
Windows Live Mail works with most e mail accounts, and you can import your e mail, contacts, and calendar from Outlook Express into Windows Live Mail. Windows Live Mail puts all of your e mail in one place. Windows Live Mail might already be installed on your computer. To check if it’s installed, click the Start button type Windows Live Mail, and see if it appears in the results. You can see the replacement program list here in http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/e-mail-calendar-photo-and-video-programs-for-windows-7 regards to mail. You can explore more about Live mail at http://explore.live.com/windows-live-mail?os=other

Microsoft has eliminated Windows Mail in Windows 7 and given you the option to decide whether you want to install it. You can download it free of cost from http://explore.live.com/windows-live-mail?os=other and setup your mail account on it. The webpage also includes some of its features.
