Here are the steps:
1. Launch Thunderbird. Select "Options" from the "Tools" menu.
2. Click on the "Privacy" icon, which is located at the top of the "Options" window.
3. Click on the "Passwords" tab and then on the "View Saved Passwords" button. A window called "Password Manager" will appear.
4. Select the "Show Passwords" option within the "Passwords Saved" tab. When prompted, hit "Yes" to view the current password.
5. Click the "Remove" button to disable the current password. Click "Close" to exit the "Password Manager" window. Doing so will take you back to the "Options" window.
6. Click "OK" to exit the "Options" window and close Thunderbird.
7. Launch Thunderbird. Upon opening, the program will ask to enter a new password. Click "OK" to confirm your new password
